Hi, I’m Chris (aka _groovyNerd).
I’ve been working in IT for over a decade, primarily in the Education and Finance sectors. This blog started as a way to document the fixes and solutions I’ve discovered—partly so I don’t forget them, and partly to share knowledge with others, just as countless blogs have helped me over the years. Some posts might seem a little unconventional, but I like to think there are useful gems hidden in there.
My journey began as a first-line engineer in a large secondary school in South East London. From there, I moved to a major education provider, where I managed IT operations for one school before being seconded to head office as a Technical Implementation Specialist—a role that eventually became permanent. After a few restructures, I transitioned into the role of Technical Architect.
Today, I’m the Head of Technology at an MSP serving clients in the Finance sector. Our mission is to deliver stable, highly available, and resilient solutions for businesses ranging from small hedge funds to large investment firms.
tl;dr: I fix things. I build things. Bing bong noise.
I hope you find my posts helpful, and I’d love to hear your thoughts—comments and feedback are always welcome!
