Hi, I’m Chris (aka _groovyNerd)

I’m an IT Engineer that has worked in the industry for over a decade. Primarily working in the Education and Finance sectors.

I decided to start writing down some of my work to help me remember how I fix things as well as a become a repository of information that may be useful to others the same way other blogs have done for me. Some of it may seem mad, but I’m sure there are gems in there somewhere.

I started off as a first line engineer in a large secondary school in South East London. I then moved to a large education provider where I acted as an IT Operations Manager for one school, seconded for 12 months as a Technical Implementation Specialist at the head office which then became a permanent role. A couple of restructures later I found myself working under the title Technical Architect.

Now I work as the Infrastructure Manager of an MSP focused on providing stable, highly available and resilient solutions to our clients in the Finance sector. This ranges from small hedge funds to much larger investment firms.

tl;dr I fix things, I build things. Bing bong noise.

I hope you find my ramblings useful and I welcome any comments and feedback on all of my work.
